Khalid FAKHAR’s passion for painting started early in his youth. More recently he has focused his energy on creating works depicting the human anatomy through the medium of modeling (clay) and painting.

In the beginning, there was a passion and talent for painting There was little concern for a broader understanding of the art and how it could grow to something more. Knalid also did not yet realize what part an audience would play in his art.

The main concern was rather to answer a need that would let him participate on this fascinated debate on the Man, art and thought: “We live in a world where nothing is known as, where the most important and the wonderful things still to be known.”

Art was for him the starting point, and allowed him to be at “a space to think and to carry out the thoughts, art was always realistic; the reality is an incredible nightmare”.

At the age of 16 years, he participated in his first collective exhibition at “Dar Takafa” Rabat 1984. At this exhibition there was a spark of realization; the audience would decide the fate of his product. It was “the first time when I was asking questions about what I was doing. I started to understand that in this field my work will be conditioned by others”
